Reconciliation Homily

… if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:1-11

Reconciliation is more than just God and myself.
Sin is not essentially personal.

The most important is : Sharing – Caring – Loving.

Sin is none of our business :
Jesus takes care of it; on his cross, he is loaded with the sin of the world, and he takes it to death.

Sin is none of our business.
Our business is to Share – Serve – Love.

Do you share your gifts? I mean the big gift of who you are – the big gift of who you have been given to be?
Are you happy with it? Are you thankful for it?
Do you share its fruits?

Love – Serve – Share.
This is not a penance service - but a reconciliation service.
We come to confession not to bask in ours sins, but to ask Jesus to take them away.
Jesus Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the World – have merci on us.

Let us focus on reconciliation,
let us hear Jesus whisper in our ears :
“You are my beloved one – Take care of my brothers and sisters, especially the vulnerable ones.  Do not focus on your sins – I will take care of your sins.

Come, my beloved one – Come.”
